One thing I want my boys to take away from all of our travel is each and every place we visit has a local community. And food is always a great way to embrace the local culture and seems to be where we almost always start on every adventure.
This gem right here was the perfect addition to our recent trip down south! Located along the Gulf of Mexico and boat lined marina, I introduce to you The Old Salty Dog. This place just seems to scream coastal living at its finest. With a decking around three sides of the building and indoor/outdoor seating that keeps you cool while still enjoying the crystal blue view of the Gulf. Plus, they’re totally prepared for those in and out showers that seem to make their way though the sunshine ☀️ state!
With this location tucked back in by the marina you often find locals swinging in for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yes, you just read that right…The Old Salty Dog does all three meals and a damn good job at it. Breakfast is a big one over here. Michael and I can’t get enough brunching out. Clearly we need to get our fix well traveling too! With breakfast being available Friday through Sunday from 7:30-10:30am this couldn’t have worked out better for our crew. All too often as parents of little dudes finding early breakfast/brunch locations fall short. Let me tell you this place did anything but that. As per normal we shared all kinds of goodies to make sure everyone got a taste.
** Tip - Make sure to keep your eyes pealed on the water. We got to see dolphins and a family of ducklings right next to the deck! It was a win win all around.
